Experimenting with dyed fabric, image transfers & the theme of Phototherapy

"Photographs are footprints of our minds, mirrors of our lives, reflections from our hearts, frozen memories that we can hold in silent stillness in our hands -- forever if we wish. They document not only where we have been, but also point the way to where we might perhaps be heading, whether or not we realize this yet ourselves..."  - Judy WeiserI've been exploring the effects of Phototherapy and have experimented with some image transfers using gel gloss medium on some tea stained lace which I've then added text and stitch over the top. Transfers didn't turn out great but heres what I got. This semester I am continuing to use Photography, Mixed media and Stitch to create work and my inspiration comes from childhood photos and memories, James Joyce's 'Dubliners' and the themes of paralysis and the prison of routine.Below are the original pictures that I transferred on to the lace.
