Inspiration from Mixed Media Artist: Ruth Rae.

I discovered Ruth's work last year after buying her book - Layered, Tattered and Stitched on Amazon. It is still my favourite art book I have bought to date. Since then I have continued to follow her gorgeous blog, Let the beauty we love be what we do. She regularly updates with new works, tips and tutorials and her work has inspired me so much in the last few months.Heres just a couple of my favourite pieces.I love her perfect combination of stitch and layered fabrics. She creates beautiful textural pieces which she begins by experimenting a lot with dying fabric, free motion embroidery, incorporating text and imagery into her work to produce intriguing and visually exciting work.
