Creative Entrepreneur Series: An Interview with Bonita Rose
Hello again, and welcome to the third instalment of the Creative Entrepreneur Series. Today I've got a wonderful interview with Bonita who works as a full time artist in her studio in Fargo, ND. She creates handpainted fabrics and is in the process of putting together and running three exciting e-courses. Today she'll be talking about her work, her studio, her inspirations and goals for the future. She'll also be giving us some tips for other creative entrepreneurs and giving us some info about her upcoming e-courses. Please tell me a little bit about your background & what type of art you make.I've always been a creative soul. SO very passionate. My blog is a mix of my thrift store finds, my vintage collection, and my colorful art! And now introducing my very own handpainted fabric designs! So thrilled to be delving into the world of fiber/fabric art and offering my handpainted designs to sewists and artists everywhere!Currently, I have two projects I'm involved with: Sew in Color, a Collaborative Project and Hoop Art! What inspires you?Color! I am a bold and bright user of color in all my fabric and mixed media art designs! Color revives. Color has saved me many times.. for me art saves, in any medium!
Do you work as full time artist and if so, how did you get to where you are now?I am working as a full time artist and creative soul, and I am loving it! I have a large and cluttered Studio on the 2nd floor of our home here in Fargo ND. It is here where I create and sew and get inspired daily! I started first just blogging daily and from there, started teaching my own COLOR YOUR WORLD e-course earlier this year, and now am involved in two fiber projects, Sew In Color and Hoop Art! I believe the best you can do for yourself is to educate yourself, learn from the people that have gone before you. I loved the course offered by Elsie Flannigan called BLOG LOVE and the course here INDIE BUSINESS 3.0 offered by the team at The Freckled Nest. Both are just fabulous and I hv learned so so much! The key is to be authentic and be true to you. Celebrate your unique qualities and LOVE what you do!

And live happy. What is your studio like and how much time do you spend a day working? My Studio is on the 2nd floor of my home and it's here where I take time to create and play every day. I usually spend my mornings brainstorming and surfing my fave blogs for inspiration, then in the afternoons I go upstairs to my studio and see where my muse takes me!
