Jennifer West, Manipulated Film Celluloid
Jennifer West is an L.A based artist and experimental film maker. She is most well known for her hand manipulated film celluloid that she destroys and distresses using a variety of methods such as burning, splicing, dousing the film in perfume, mascara, jack daniels and even skateboarding over it.
The two images above are film stills from her work featuring scenes from Jaws (1975) that she has distorted with streaks of mascara. The title of the work is 'Heavy Metal Sharks Calming Jaws Reversal Film' (2011)
