Martin Parr, 'The Last Resort'

Quite a contrast to the work I usually look at, but I'm currently writing an essay on Postmodernism and looking at Martin Parr's work for consideration. The series of photographs used in his photo book - 'The Last Resort' where taken at New Brighton Beach. A place close to where I grew up, which is why I am interested in the style he uses and how this is used (it can be argued) to harshly criticize this working class 'resort'.Here are some of my own photographs using Parr's style I have taken at Blackpool Beach:I found a really great article on his work over at Ricardo's blog: The Irony of Martin Parr's Last Resort
