Factory Night: Staffordshire Hoard Treasure & Saxon Pilgrimage
This evening I was selected to attend a 'Factory Night' in Stoke on Trent which began with an intimate visit to the Staffordshire hoard collection at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery and finished with a 'pilgrimage' to Trentham Gardens led by artist Andrew Edwards. It was a really inspiring evening and will hopefully be the beginning of some interesting collaborations with some really interesting artists. The aim of the night is to get together a number of artists from different disciplines and provide them with an interesting environment and working session to hopefully produce ideas for commissioned site specific pieces or research residencies.Below are a few images I collected with the camera trap, I took some others with a normal point and shoot camera as well, I'll upload them tomorrow and also write about some initial ideas I have.

- intital ideas for exploration/experimentation:- metaphysical- notions of journeys, walks + mapping- changing landscape/photographs installed in the environment- temporal spaces- sound/film/projections?- retracing old routes/roads/retracing history + documenting with the use of photography & sound art.- rediscovering mercian heritage/folkore/local history- site specific work - public realm.
N.b, To explain why I haven't been posting much lately, I've just finished my degree at Salford and therefore won't be producing as much work anymore. I'm still working on a site specific project based in Lower Broughton which I'll mostly be updating this site with now as well as other conferences/events I go to for Ubelly. At the moment I'm in the process of renting a new studio on Wellington Road in Bebington which I'll upload pictures of when I visit.& finally! I'm showing work in four exhibitions this summer which anyone is welcome to visit.
